| Shades of Gray: Exploring Spiritual Dimensions of Aging through Jewish Literature |

Hiddur: The Center for Aging and Judaism is delighted to announce a dynamic learning opportunity for rabbis, chaplains, cantors, mental health and social service professionals, rabbinical students. Shades of Gray: Exploring Spiritual Dimensions of Aging through Jewish Literature is a monthly seminar led by Rabbi Dayle A. Friedman, Hiddur director, author of the forthcoming book, Jewish Visions for Aging: A Professional Guide for Fostering Wholeness (Jewish Lights, 2008), and Carol Hausman, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist and gerontologist. Shades of Gray will be held on Monday evenings at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Wyncote, PA. In this seminar, which has been successfully piloted in Philadelphia and New York City, we will explore the spiritual dimensions of later life through novels, short stories and memoirs from contemporary and classical Jewish literature, and through experiential, creative application to our professional work with elders.
