| Duke’s Center for Spirituality, Theology and Health/Duke University Summer Research Workshops |
| |
This is the 5th year that these research workshops are being offered. The dates are July 21 - 25 and August 11 - 15, 2008. These workshops, presented by Duke’s Center for Spirituality, Theology and Health, compress a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship into 5 days, and are the only place in the world where specific training on how to conduct research on religion, spirituality and health can be obtained from people who have been active in the field for nearly 25 years. Workshop faculty include Dan G. Blazer, Verna Benner Carson, Timothy Daaleman, Dana E. King, Harold G. Koenig, Keith G. Meador, and Redford B. Williams.
Because of the intense nature of this training that includes individual mentorship, the workshops are LIMITED TO 20 PARTICIPANTS EACH, so it is important to register early. More information on the workshops and on how to register can be found at: http://www.dukespiritualityandhealth.org/education/summer-research/. All questions about the workshops should be directed to Harold G. Koenig(koenig@geri.duke.edu) and all completed registration forms with tuition should be sent to Duke University Medical Center, c/o Harold G. Koenig, 415 Clarion Dr., Durham, NC 27705.
As a member of the Cabinet of Liaisons of the Association of Professional Chaplains, and out of our desire to encourage research by chaplains on spirituality and health, we are offering all APC members a $200 discount on workshop tuition. There may be limited scholarships available for those demonstrating extreme need and promising academic careers, although these will be on a competitive basis. |
